RESEARCH / EVIDENCE PACK

From a product
to its provenance.

A question. A chain of relationships. The records behind each connection.

FORMAT PREVIEWInside an
evidence pack
Five parts. One clear trail.
01

The question

Who made the hardware, which business imported it, and where is it offered for sale?

Define the product, geography and observation period before collecting records.

02

The relationship

A connection is only as useful as the record behind it.

Record each company connection separately, with its relationship type, first and last observed dates, and whether the evidence is confirmed, inferred or suspected.

03

The evidence register

Every observation has a source you can return to.

Retain the source name, original URL or record identifier, access date and exact fact it supports. Keep primary records distinct from secondary references.

Source recordWhat the record supports
Company registerRegistered entity and identifiers
Shipment recordNamed shipper, consignee and dates
Product listingObserved product and seller
04

What remains unknown

The gaps belong in the report, too.

List unresolved entity matches, missing documents and coverage limits. Ocean freight records do not account for air and parcel shipments. Absence from a register is not proof of unlawful conduct.

05

The next step

Turn an open question into a focused investigation.

Identify the additional records needed to confirm or reject each inference. Agree on the delivery format and monitoring scope with the research team.
